Related Product Information for RhoD recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human RhoD (1-207) was expressed in E Coli cells using an N-terminal His tag.
Scientific Background: RhoD is a member of the Rho gene family that interacts with protein kinases and serves as a target of activated GTPase. Rho binds GTP and plays a critical role in muscle differentiation by regulating the expression of myogenin and MEF2 genes. Furthermore, Rho is involved in endosome dynamics and reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and plays a role in coordinating membrane transport (1). mDia and ROCK are downstream effectors of Rho mediating Rho action on the actin cytoskeleton; mDia produces actin filaments by nucleation and polymerization and ROCK activate myosin to cross-link them for induction of actomyosin bundles and contractility (2).

NCBI Description

Ras homolog, or Rho, proteins interact with protein kinases and may serve as targets for activated GTPase. They play a critical role in muscle differentiation. The protein encoded by this gene binds GTP and is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. It is involved in endosome dynamics and reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, and it may coordinate membrane transport with the function of the cytoskeleton. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Product Notes

The RhoD rhod (Catalog #AAA515653) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-207. AAA Biotech's RhoD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Enzyme Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RhoD rhod for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RhoD, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
