Bioactivity
This protein binds to human T-cell receptor CD4 in ELISA and Western ELISA as determined by CD4/gp120/Anti-gp120 mAb-peroxidase capture ELISA. This protein activates human T-Lymphocytes (CD4+, CD4-), in vitro, as measured by RNA synthesis during G0 to G1.

Related Product Information for HIV1 gp120 active protein
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a lentivirus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections. Envelope glycoprotein GP120 (or gp120) is a glycoprotein exposed on the surface of the HIV envelope. The 120 in its name comes from its molecular weight of 120 kilodaltons. gp120 is essential for virus entry into cells as it plays a vital role in seeking out specific cell surface receptors for entry.

Product Notes

The HIV1 gp120 (Catalog #AAA538163) is an Active Protein produced from Recombinant gp120 (HIV-1 IIIB produced in mammalian cells, CHO) and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's HIV1 gp120 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, In-vitro Diagnostics; CD4 Binding; T-Cell Activation. Optimal conditions to be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HIV1 gp120 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HIV1 gp120, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
