Principle of the Assay||The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Transcription factor Sp1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for Transcription factor Sp1 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Transcription factor Sp1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of Transcription factor Sp1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description
SP1: a transcription factor of the Sp1 C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Phosphorylated and activated by MAPK. Dephosphorylation by PTEN inhibits DNA binding. Binds to p38 in the nucleus. Interacts with Huntingtin and TAFII130. Transcriptional activity of SP1 and TAFII130 disrupted in early Huntingtin's Disease.

Product Notes
The Rat Sp1 sp1 (Catalog #AAA2884856) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2884856 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Sp1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Transcription factor Sp1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
