Rat Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) ELISA Kit | PON1 elisa kit
Rat Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: The paraoxonase (PON) gene family includes 3 genes, PON1, PON2, and PON3, aligned next to each other on chromosome 7. PON1 (EC 3.1.1.2) hydrolyzes the toxic oxon metabolites of several organophosphorous insecticides, including parathion, diazinon, and chlorpyrifos, as well as nerve agents, such as sarin and soman. PON1 also hydrolyzes aromatic esters, preferably those of acetic acid. In addition, PON1 hydrolyzes a variety of aromatic and aliphatic lactones, and it also catalyzes the reverse reaction, lactonization, of gamma- and delta-hydroxycarboxylic acids. Human PON1 is synthesized in liver and secreted into blood, where it is associated exclusively with high density lipoproteins (HDLs) and may protect against development of atherosclerosis (Draganov et al., 2005).

Uniprot Description
Function: Hydrolyzes the toxic metabolites of a variety of organophosphorus insecticides. Capable of hydrolyzing a broad spectrum of organophosphate substrates and lactones, and a number of aromatic carboxylic acid esters. Mediates an enzymatic protection of low density lipoproteins against oxidative modification.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.3
Catalytic activity: A phenyl acetate + H2O = a phenol + acetate.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.4

Product Notes
The Rat PON1 pon1 (Catalog #AAA9712101) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9712101 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat PON1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Paraoxonase 1 (PON1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
