Related Product Information for IGFBP5 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The Picokine™ Rat Igfbp5 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Rat Igfbp5 with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with antibody specific for Igfbp5. The detection antibody is a biotinylated antibody specific for Igfbp5. The capture antibody is monoclonal antibody from mouse, the detection antibody is polyclonal antibody from goat. The kit contains recombinant Rat Igfbp5 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: NSO; Immunogen sequence: L20-E271. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents. To measure Rat Igfbp5, add standards and samples to the wells, then add the biotinylated detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex (ABC-HRP). Wash away the unbounded ABC-HRP with PBS or TBS buffer and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Rat Igfbp5 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Rat Igfbp5 in the sample.

Background/Introduction: Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IGFBP5 gene. The IGFBP5 gene was mapped to chromosome 2q33-q34. The expression of IGFBP5 by stable transfection and adenovirus-mediated infection was inhibitory to growth in 2 human breast cancer cell lines. Stable expression of IGFBP5 in the breast cancer cell lines also inhibited the formation and growth of tumors following injection in athymic mice. IGFBP5 is believed a growth inhibitor and proapoptotic agent in breast cancer cells.

Uniprot Description

IGFBP5: IGF-binding proteins prolong the half-life of the IGFs and have been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. They alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors.

Product Notes

The Rat IGFBP5 igfbp5 (Catalog #AAA177250) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA177250 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat IGFBP5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IGFBP5, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
