Related Product Information for GATA4 clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of GATA4 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GATA4. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for GATA4 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain GATA4, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of GATA4. You can calculate the concentration of GATA4 in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the GATA family of zinc-finger transcription factors. Members of this family recognize the GATA motif which is present in the promoters of many genes. This protein is thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function, and is necessary for normal testicular development. Mutations in this gene have been associated with cardiac septal defects. Additionally, alterations in gene expression have been associated with several cancer types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

Uniprot Description

GATA4: a conserved and ubiquitous member of the GATA family of zinc-finger transcription factors. Members of this family recognize the GATA motif which is present in the promoters of many genes. This protein is thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function. May regulate a set of cardiac-specific genes and play a crucial role in cardiogenesis. Defects are a cause of atrial septal defect 2 (ASD2). ASD2 is an autosomal dominant condition with atrial septal defect and other congenital heart disease but no conduction defects or noncardiac abnormalities.

Product Notes

The Rat GATA4 gata4 (Catalog #AAA2531282) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2531282 CLIA Kit recognizes Rat GATA4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GATA4 (GATA Binding Protein 4), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
