Related Product Information for anti-FGFR-3 antibody
The fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) are members of a large family of structurally related polypeptides that are potent physiological regulators of growth and differentiation for a wide variet of cells of mesodermal, ectodermal and endodermal origin. Four genes encoding for high affinity cell surface FGF receptors (FGFRs) have been identified: FGFR-1, FGFR-2, FGFR-3 and FGFR-4.FGFRs are emembers of the tyrosine kinase family of growth factor receptors. FGFR-3 is widely expressed in many fetal and adult human and animal tissues.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) family, with its amino acid sequence being highly conserved between members and among divergent species. FGFR family members differ from one another in their ligand affinities and tissue distribution. A full-length representative protein would consist of an extracellular region, composed of three immunoglobulin-like domains, a single hydrophobic membrane-spanning segment and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain. The extracellular portion of the protein interacts with fibroblast growth factors, setting in motion a cascade of downstream signals, ultimately influencing mitogenesis and differentiation. This particular family member binds acidic and basic fibroblast growth hormone and plays a role in bone development and maintenance. Mutations in this gene lead to craniosynostosis and multiple types of skeletal dysplasia. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

FGFR3: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the highly-conserved FGFR family that binds fibroblast growth factor (FGF). Mutations are associated with thanatophoric dysplasia (TD), craniosynostosis Adelaide type, many craniosynostotic syndromes and bone malformations. Three splice-variant isoforms have been described. Activating point mutations cause dwarfism, including achondroplasia, hypochrondroplasia and thanatophoric dysplasia, and facial and other morphogenetic disorders, including Crouzon syndrome, craniosynostosis Adelaide type, San Diego skeletal displasia and Muenke syndrome. Translocations t(4;14) involving the IgH region are common in multiple myeloma and frequently involve FGFR3. Activated FGFR3 found in 30% of bladder cancers and several cervical cancers, but not in other tumors. Two mutations found in colorectal cancer.

Product Notes

The FGFR-3 (Catalog #AAA462212) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti FGFR-3 antibody reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FGFR-3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology. Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 1:20. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FGFR-3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FGFR-3, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
