Western Blot (WB) (Figure 1. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit (Catalog # MBS176460) with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for VRL1/TRPV2 at approximately 95KD. The expected band size for VRL1/TRPV2 is at 95KD. )

Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4 degree C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20 degree C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)

DyLight®488 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (5-10μg/1x106 cells) was used as secondary antibody for 30 minutes at 20 degree C. Isotype control antibody (Green line) was rabbit IgG (1μg/1x106) used under the same conditions. Unlabelled sample (Red line) was also used as a control. )

TRPV2(Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily V Member 2), also known as VRL1, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the TRPV1 gene. The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the TRPV2 gene to chromosome 17. This gene encodes an ion channel that is activated by high temperatures above 52 degree C. The protein may be involved in transduction of high-temperature heat responses in sensory ganglia. It is though that in other tissues the channel may be activated by stimuli other than heat.
