Related Product Information for anti-TRPV2 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 2(TRPV2) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P, IHC-F in Human.
Background: TRPV2(Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily V Member 2), also known as VRL1, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the TRPV1 gene. The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the TRPV2 gene to chromosome 17. This gene encodes an ion channel that is activated by high temperatures above 52 degree C. The protein may be involved in transduction of high-temperature heat responses in sensory ganglia. It is though that in other tissues the channel may be activated by stimuli other than heat.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an ion channel that is activated by high temperatures above 52 degrees Celsius. The protein may be involved in transduction of high-temperature heat responses in sensory ganglia. It is thought that in other tissues the channel may be activated by stimuli other than heat. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TRPV2: Calcium-permeable, non-selective cation channel with an outward rectification. Seems to be regulated, at least in part, by IGF-I, PDGF and neuropeptide head activator. May transduce physical stimuli in mast cells. Activated by temperatures higher than 52 degrees Celsius; is not activated by vanilloids and acidic pH. Belongs to the transient receptor (TC 1.A.4) family. TrpV subfamily. TRPV2 sub-subfamily.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Channel, cation; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p11.2

Cellular Component: cell surface; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; melanosome; endomembrane system

Molecular Function: calcium channel activity; ion transmembrane transporter activity; ion channel activity; cation channel activity

Biological Process: response to temperature stimulus; transport; response to heat; positive regulation of axon extension; sensory perception; transmembrane transport

Product Notes

The TRPV2 trpv2 (Catalog #AAA176140) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-VRL1 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VRL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRPV2 trpv2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VRL1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
