Related Product Information for anti-Tubulin b antibody
Tubulin is one of several members of a small family of globular proteins. The most common members of the tubulin family are alpha-tubulin and beta-tubulin, the proteins that make up microtubules. Each has a molecular weight of approximately 55 kiloDaltons. Microtubules are assembled from dimers of alpha- and beta-tubulin. These subunits are slightly acidic with an isoelectric point between 5.2 and 5.8.1 Mutant huntingtin, disrupted intracellular transport and insulin secretion by direct interference with microtubular beta-tubulin. Mutant huntingtin impaired glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in insulin-producing beta cells, without altering stored levels of insulin. Smith et al. (2009) proposed a novel pathogenetic process by which mutant huntingtin may disrupt hormone exocytosis from beta cells and possibly impair vesicular transport in any cell that expresses the pathogenic protein.2

Product Notes

The Tubulin b (Catalog #AAA355105) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Tubulin beta antibody reacts with Human, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Tubulin b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB (1:2000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Tubulin b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tubulin b, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
