Uniprot Description
TRIM72: Muscle-specific protein that plays a central role in cell membrane repair by nucleating the assembly of the repair machinery at injury sites. Specifically binds phosphatidylserine. Acts as a sensor of oxidation: upon membrane damage, entry of extracellular oxidative environment results in disulfide bond formation and homooligomerization at the injury site. This oligomerization acts as a nucleation site for recruitment of TRIM72-containing vesicles to the injury site, leading to membrane patch formation. Probably acts upstream of the Ca(2+)-dependent membrane resealing process. Required for transport of DYSF to sites of cell injury during repair patch formation. Regulates membrane budding and exocytosis. May be involved in the regulation of the mobility of KCNB1-containing endocytic vesicles. Belongs to the TRIM/RBCC family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

The Goat anti-TRIM72 Antibody reacts with Tested: Human, Mouse, Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRIM72 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 16000. Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Skeletal Muscle shows staining of the fibre membranes, detached artificially by the sectioning. Recommended concentration, 3-5ug/ml. Western Blot: Approx 52kDa band observed in Mouse and Rat Heart lysates (calculated MW of 52.8kDa according to Mouse NP_001073401.1). Recommended concentration: 0.01-0.03ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRIM72 trim72 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: RPQALSTNLQ. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRIM72, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
