Related Product Information for anti-Stxbp1 antibody
STXBP1 (Syntaxin-binding protein 1; also p67, Munc18-1, N-Sec1 and Unc18A) is a 67kD member of the SNARE-interacting Sec1/Unc18/STXBP family of proteins. It is expressed in a variety of cells, presumably in those that exhibit granule exocytosis, and likely participates in (synaptic) granule release. Ligands for STXBP1 include STX1A, 2 and 3, and it is possible that STXBP1 both suppresses STX activity, and serves as an anchor for STX-mediated vesicle fusion. Human STXBP1 is 594aa in length. It contains one SEC1 domain (aa41-575). Phosphorylation at Ser313 may stimulate granule release. There is one splice variant that shows a 28aa substitution for aa576-594. This is restricted to neural tissue. Over aa 80-226, human and

NCBI Description

inhibits binding of synaptobrevin and SNAP-25 to syntaxin 1A to modulate SNARE complex formation; acts to regulate neurotransmission [RGD]

Uniprot Description

STXBP1: may participate in the regulation of synaptic vesicle docking and fusion, possibly through interaction with GTP-binding proteins. Essential for neurotransmission and binds syntaxin, a component of the synaptic vesicle fusion machinery probably in a 1:1 ratio. Can interact with syntaxins 1, 2, and 3 but not syntaxin 4. May play a role in determining the specificity of intracellular fusion reactions. Two splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Stxbp1 stxbp1 (Catalog #AAA620460) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Syntaxin-binding protein 1 (Syntaxin-BP1, p67, Munc18-1, N-Sec1, Unc18A) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Syntaxin-binding protein 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml Western Blot: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Stxbp1 stxbp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Syntaxin-binding protein 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
