Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from VERO cells, using Sulfatase 2 Antibody. The lane on the left was treated with blocking peptide.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)/Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
(MBS9612265 staining Hela cells by IF/ICC. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100,then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were then incubated with primary Ab(MBS9612265 1:200) and mouse anti-beta tubulin Ab(T0023 1:200) for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) Ab(Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) Ab(Green) were used as the secondary antibody. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI(blue).)
Post Translational Modifications: The conversion to 3-oxoalanine (also known as C-formylglycine, FGly), of a serine or cysteine residue in prokaryotes and of a cysteine residue in eukaryotes, is critical for catalytic activity.
Subcellular Location: Endoplasmic reticulum. Golgi apparatus>Golgi stack. Cell surface. Note: Also localized on the cell surface.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed at highest levels in the ovary, skeletal muscle, stomach, brain, uterus, heart, kidney and placenta.
Similarity: Belongs to the sulfatase family.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted Molecular Weight: (Calculated)100kDa.
NCBI Description
Heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) act as coreceptors for numerous heparin-binding growth factors and cytokines and are involved in cell signaling. Heparan sulfate 6-O-endosulfatases, such as SULF2, selectively remove 6-O-sulfate groups from heparan sulfate. This activity modulates the effects of heparan sulfate by altering binding sites for signaling molecules (Dai et al., 2005 [PubMed 16192265]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Uniprot Description
SULF2: Exhibits arylsulfatase activity and highly specific endoglucosamine-6-sulfatase activity. It can remove sulfate from the C-6 position of glucosamine within specific subregions of intact heparin. Belongs to the sulfatase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The SULF2 sulf2 (Catalog #AAA9612265) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Sulfatase 2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey Predicted Reactivity: Pig(100%), Bovine(88%), Horse(100%), Sheep(88%), Dog(88%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Sulfatase 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IF: 1:100-1:500 ICC: 1:100-1:500 ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SULF2 sulf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sulfatase 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
