Related Product Information for anti-SUB1 antibody
Description: General coactivator that functions cooperatively with TAFs and mediates functional interactions between upstream activators and the general transcriptional machinery. May be involved in stabilizing the multiprotein transcription complex. Binds single-stranded DNA. Also binds, in vitro, non-specifically to double-stranded DNA (ds DNA).

Post Translational Modifications: Activity is controlled by protein kinases that target the regulatory region. Phosphorylation inactivates both ds DNA-binding and cofactor function, but does not affect binding to ssDNA. Seems to be phosphorylated in vivo by CK2 in at least 7 sites in the N-terminal Ser-rich region.

Subunit Structure: Homodimer. Interacts with CSTF2.

Similarity: Belongs to the transcriptional coactivator PC4 family.

Uniprot Description

PC4: a transcriptional coactivator that functions cooperatively with TAFs and mediates functional interactions between upstream activators and the general transcriptional machinery. May be involved in stabilizing the multiprotein transcription complex. Binds single-stranded DNA. Also binds, in vitro, nonspecifically to double-stranded DNA (ds DNA). Interacts with CSTF2. Its activity is controlled by phosphorylation of the regulatory domain. Phosphorylation inactivates both dsDNA-binding and cofactor function. Seems to be phosphorylated in vivo by CK2 in at least 7 sites in the N-terminal Ser-rich region.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5p13.3

Cellular Component: transcription factor complex; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; transcription coactivator activity; single-stranded DNA binding

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The SUB1 sub1 (Catalog #AAA9611509) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SUB1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat Predicted: Pig, Bovine, Sheep, Dog, Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SUB1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SUB1 sub1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SUB1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
