Related Product Information for anti-KITLG antibody
Goat anti Human Stem Cell Factor antibody recognizes human stem cell factor (SCF), a type I transmembrane protein and haematopoietic growth factor, which acts in synergy with other growth factors and signals through the c-Kit receptor. Interaction between SCF and the receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit is an essential step for the proliferation, survival and differentiation of haematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, myelanocytes and germ cells, and plays an important role in follicular development. The association between SCF and c-Kit is also involved with the progression and invasiveness of tumours, and deficiencies of either SCF or c-Kit result in mast cell deficiency and macrocytic anaemia.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the ligand of the tyrosine-kinase receptor encoded by the KIT locus. This ligand is a pleiotropic factor that acts in utero in germ cell and neural cell development, and hematopoiesis, all believed to reflect a role in cell migration. In adults, it functions pleiotropically, while mostly noted for its continued requirement in hematopoiesis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SCF: Ligand for the receptor-type protein-tyrosine kinase KIT. Plays an essential role in the regulation of cell survival and proliferation, hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, gametogenesis, mast cell development, migration and function, and in melanogenesis. KITLG/SCF binding can activate several signaling pathways. Promotes phosphorylation of PIK3R1, the regulatory subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase, and subsequent activation of the kinase AKT1. KITLG/SCF and KIT also transmit signals via GRB2 and activation of RAS, RAF1 and the MAP kinases MAPK1/ERK2 and/or MAPK3/ERK1. KITLG/SCF and KIT promote activation of STAT family members STAT1, STAT3 and STAT5. KITLG/SCF and KIT promote activation of PLCG1, leading to the production of the cellular signaling molecules diacylglycerol and inositol 1,4,5- trisphosphate. KITLG/SCF acts synergistically with other cytokines, probably interleukins. Homodimer, non-covalently linked (Probable). Heterotetramer with KIT, binding two KIT molecules; thereby mediates KIT dimerization and subsequent activation by autophosphorylation. Belongs to the SCF family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The KITLG kitlg (Catalog #AAA221498) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's STEM CELL FACTOR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 2.0ug/ml; Functional Assays: Minimum Dilution: 0.008; Maximum Dilution: 0.012ug/ml; Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires enzyme mediated antigen retrieval prior to staining of parrafin sections. Proteinase K is recomended for this purpose. Successful heat mediated antigen retrieval has also been accomplished using Tris/EDTA buffer (pH9.0). Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1; Maximum Dilution: 0.2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KITLG kitlg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STEM CELL FACTOR, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
