Related Product Information for anti-ST2 antibody
Rabbit anti Mouse ST2 (N-Terminal) antibody recognizes an epitope within the N-Terminal region (NT) of mouse ST2, a member of the Toll-interleukin 1 receptor (TIR) superfamily, expressed by mast cells and TH2 helper cells, but not by TH1 effector cells. The majority of TIR superfamily members, which includes the Interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R1), Toll-like receptors (TLRs) and the cytosolic adaptor proteins MyD88, TIRAP, Trif and TRAM, initiate innate immunity through the ultimate activation of the transcription factor NF-kappaB and are inducers of the inflammatory response. In contrast ST2, which itself is unable to activate NF-kappaB, has been identified as a negative regulator of IL-1R1 and TLR4 signaling by sequestering MyD88 and TIRAP in line with its role as a crucial receptor in TH2-cell mediated responses (Brint et al. 2004 and Coyle et al. 1999).

Uniprot Description

IL1RL1: receptor for IL33. Its stimulation recruits MYD88, IRAK1, IRAK4, and TRAF6, followed by phosphorylation of ERK1 and/or ERK2, p38-alpha, and JNK1. Apparently promotes the activation and differentiation of T-helper 2 cells. Belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. Highly expressed in kidney, lung, placenta, stomach, skeletal muscle, colon and small intestine. Three isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Isoform A is prevalently expressed in the lung, testis, placenta, stomach and colon. Isoform B is more abundant in the brain, kidney and the liver. Isoform C is not detected in brain, heart, liver, kidney and skeletal muscle.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine

Cellular Component: proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular space; cell surface; membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: interleukin-1 receptor activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of T-helper 1 type immune response; negative regulation of interferon-gamma production; negative regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; signal transduction; positive regulation of interleukin-5 production; positive regulation of inflammatory response; positive regulation of macrophage activation

Product Notes

The ST2 il1rl1 (Catalog #AAA221876) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's ST2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detecs a band of approximately 45kDa in mouse kidney cell lysates. (Predicted Mwt. 62 kDa). Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1; Maximum Dilution: 2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ST2 il1rl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ST2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
