Related Product Information for anti-SPIB antibody
SPIB, an Ets family transcription factor linked to lymphomagenesis, in DLBCL. SPIB expression is a clinically novel poor prognostic factor in DLBCL that contributes to treatment resistance, at least in part, through an anti-apoptotic mechanism. SPIB is an Ets transcription factor that is expressed exclusively in mature B cells, T-cell progenitors, and plasmacytoid dendritic cells. SPIB expression can be used as a tool for testing BPDC neoplasms, but it needs to be tested in conjunction with the growing arsenal of markers for human plasmacytoid dendritic cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional activator that binds to the PU-box (5'-GAGGAA-3') and acts as a lymphoid-specific enhancer. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

SPIB: Sequence specific transcriptional activator which binds to the PU-box, a purine-rich DNA sequence (5'-GAGGAA-3') that can act as a lymphoid-specific enhancer. Promotes development of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), also known as type 2 DC precursors (pre-DC2) or natural interferon (IFN)-producing cells. These cells have the capacity to produce large amounts of interferon and block viral replication. May be required for B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling, which is necessary for normal B-cell development and antigenic stimulation. Belongs to the ETS family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3-q13.4

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: sequence-specific DNA binding

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; cell differentiation

Product Notes

The SPIB spib (Catalog #AAA8101279) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-SPIB Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human Predicted to React with: Mouse, Rat (Species predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SPIB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP). IP: 4-8uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPIB spib for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SPIB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
