NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of the specific protein components of the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) particle required for the formation of the spliceosome. The encoded protein participates in the processing of nuclear precursor messenger RNA splicing. snRNP particles are attacked by autoantibodies frequently produced by patients with connective tissue diseases. The genome contains several pseudogenes of this functional gene. Alternative splicing results in a non-coding transcript variant.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

snRNP C: Component of the U1 snRNP, which is essential for recognition of the pre-mRNA 5' splice-site and the subsequent assembly of the spliceosome. U1-C is directly involved in initial 5' splice-site recognition for both constitutive and regulated alternative splicing. The interaction with the 5' splice-site seems to precede base-pairing between the pre-mRNA and the U1 snRNA. Stimulates E complex formation by stabilizing the base pairing of the 5' end of the U1 snRNA and the 5' splice-site region. Belongs to the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein C family.

Product Notes

The SNRPC snrpc (Catalog #AAA9232085) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SNRPC Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SNRPC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), ELISA (EIA). IHC-P: 1:50-100 WB: 1:1000 FC/FACS: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNRPC snrpc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNRPC, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
