Related Product Information for anti-SMAD 1/5/8/9 antibody
SMADs are members of the MAD-related family of molecules. MAD-related proteins are a family of intracellular proteins that are essential components in the signaling pathways of the serine/threonine kinase receptors of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily (1). SMADs can be divided into receptor-regulated SMADs (R-SMADs: SMAD1, 2, 5, 8 and 9), common-mediator SMAD (co-SMAD: SMAD4), and inhibitory SMADs (I-SMADs: SMAD6 and 7). SMAD1, 5, 8 and 9 have high degrees of homology and antibodies are available that recognize sequences common to all of them. SMAD8 and SMAD9 are typically used as alternate names for one another in the literature. For additional information on SMAD proteins, please follow the provided links to the NCBI website: human SMAD1, SMAD2, SMAD3, SMAD4, SMAD5, SMAD6, SMAD7, SMAD9 and mouse SMAD8.

Product Notes

The SMAD 1/5/8/9 (Catalog #AAA615829) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SMAD 1/5/8/9 (Small Mothers against Decapentaplegic Deleted in Pancreatic Carcinoma) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SMAD 1/5/8/9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SMAD 1/5/8/9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SMAD 1/5/8/9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
