Related Product Information for anti-SEMA5A antibody
Members of the semaphorin protein family are involved in axonal guidance during neural development. Semaphorin 5a is thought to have a bifunctional role in axon guidance, exerting both attractive and inhibitory effects on developing axons associated with limbic function. The thrombospondin repeats of Semaphorin 5a physically interact with both heparan sulfate proteoglycans and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans, inducing attractive and inhibitory guidance cues, respectively. The biological responses to Semaphorin 5a are induced through binding to its high-affinity receptor, plexin B3, triggering intracellular signaling through Met.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the semaphorin gene family that encodes membrane proteins containing a semaphorin domain and several thrombospondin type-1 repeats. Members of this family are involved in axonal guidance during neural development. This gene has been implicated as an autism susceptibility gene.

Product Notes

The SEMA5A sema5a (Catalog #AAA629148) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Semaphorin 5A (Semaphorin-5A, Semaphorin F, Sema F, SEMA5A, SEMAF) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Semaphorin 5A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SEMA5A sema5a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Semaphorin 5A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
