Related Product Information for anti-RAET1E antibody
Members of the RAET1 family, such as RAET1E, are major
histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I-related genes located
within a 180-kb cluster on chromosome 6q24.2-q25.3. RAET1 proteins
contain MHC class I-like alpha-1 and alpha-2 domains. RAET1E and
RAET1G (MIM 609244) differ from the other RAET1 proteins (e.g.,
RAET1I, or ULBP1; MIM 605697) in that they have type I
membrane-spanning sequences at their C termini rather than
glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor sequences. RAET1E is a ligand
for NKG2D (KLRK1; MIM 611817), which is expressed on the surface of
several types of immune cells and is involved in innate and
adaptive immune responses (summary by Radosavljevic et al. (2002)
[PubMed 11827464] and Cao et al. (2007) [PubMed
17470428]).

NCBI Description

This gene belong to the RAET1 family, which consists of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I-related genes located in a cluster on chromosome 6q24.2-q25.3. This and RAET1G protein differ from other RAET1 proteins in that they have type I membrane-spanning sequences at their C termini rather than glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor sequences. This protein functions as a ligand for NKG2D receptor, which is expressed on the surface of several types of immune cells, and is involved in innate and adaptive immune responses. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

RAET1E: Ligand for the NKG2D receptor. Delivers activating signals to NK cells and promotes tumor immune surveillance by inducing the expansion of anti-tumor cytotoxic lymphocytes. Belongs to the MHC class I family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q25.1

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region

Molecular Function: peptide antigen binding; natural killer cell lectin-like receptor binding

Biological Process: regulation of immune response; antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen via MHC class I; natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity; T cell mediated cytotoxicity

Product Notes

The RAET1E raet1e (Catalog #AAA9202014) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 150-179. The RAET1E Antibody (Center) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RAET1E can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RAET1E raet1e for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RAET1E, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
