NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Cell surface receptor, which is involved in signal transduction processes. Recruits PTPN11/SHP-2 to the cell membrane and is a putative substrate of PTPN11/SHP-2. Is a major receptor for concanavalin-A (ConA) and is involved in cellular signaling induced by ConA, which probably includes Src family tyrosine-protein kinases. Isoform 3 seems to have a dominant negative role; it blocks tyrosine phosphorylation of MPZL1 induced by ConA. Isoform 1, but not isoform 2 and isoform 3, may be involved in regulation of integrin-mediated cell motility. Ref.3 Ref.4 Ref.12
Subunit structure: Interacts with phosphorylated PTPN11/SHP-2. Ref.1 Ref.11
Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein
Potential.
Tissue specificity: Widely expressed with highest levels in heart, placenta, kidney and pancreas. Isoform 3 is relatively abundant in hematopoietic tissues and fetal liver. Isoform 1 and isoform 3 are expressed in CD14- PB monocytes and pre-B cell progenitors. Isoform 3 appears to be the major isoform in CD34- promyelocytic and promonocytic cells. During differentiation in monocytic cells, the expression level of isoform 3 decreases and that of isoform 1 increases. Isoform 1 is prominent in stromal cells and, to a lesser extent, in umbilical vein endothelial cells and erythroid progenitors. Isoform 2 is expressed in a erythroid progenitor cell line. Ref.1 Ref.3 Ref.4
Domain: Contains 2 copies of a cytoplasmic motif that is referred to as the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitor motif (ITIM). This motif is involved in modulation of cellular responses. The phosphorylated ITIM motif can bind the SH2 domain of several SH2-containing phosphatases.
Post-translational modification: Phosphorylated on tyrosine residues upon stimulation with pervanadate and concanavalin-A (ConA). Phosphorylation at Tyr-241 and Tyr-263 is required for interaction with PTPN11/SHP-2. Dephosphorylated by PTPN11/SHP-2 (in vitro). Ref.1 Ref.11 Ref.12N-glycosylated. Ref.1 Ref.12
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the myelin P0 protein family.Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.
Sequence caution: The sequence CAI20144.2 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction.

Product Notes
The MPZL1 mpzl1 (Catalog #AAA645845) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PZR, Phosphorylated (Tyr263) (Myelin Protein Zero-like Protein 1, Protein Zero-related, MPZL1, UNQ849/PRO1787) reacts with Bovine, Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PZR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MPZL1 mpzl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PZR, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
