Goat anti-Mouse Prostasin Polyclonal Antibody | anti-PRSS8 antibody
Prostasin (Prss8, CAP1, PROSTASIN, Serine protease 8, Protease, serine, 8)
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Dilution: ELISA (Capture): 0.2-0.8ug/ml
Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse Prostasin. The detection limit for recombinant mouse Prostasin is ~20ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a trypsinogen, which is a member of the trypsin family of serine proteases. This enzyme is highly expressed in prostate epithelia and is one of several proteolytic enzymes found in seminal fluid. The proprotein is cleaved to produce a light chain and a heavy chain which are associated by a disulfide bond. It is active on peptide linkages involving the carboxyl group of lysine or arginine. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
PRSS8: Possesses a trypsin-like cleavage specificity with a preference for poly-basic substrates. Stimulates epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) activity through activating cleavage of the gamma subunits (SCNN1G). Belongs to the peptidase S1 family.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; EC 3.4.21.-; Protease
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p11.2
Cellular Component: extracellular space; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region
Molecular Function: protein binding; serine-type peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity
Biological Process: proteolysis

6. the mRNA level of PN-1 is significantly elevated in colorectal cancer tissue
7. it is not clear, at the present time, whether endogenous aldosterone regulates prostasin expression or vice versa
8. study presents structures of the extracellular domain of active prostasin in several forms; of particular interest is the S1 subsite loop which opens and closes in response to basic residues or divalent ions, directly binding Ca(+2) cations

Product Notes
The PRSS8 prss8 (Catalog #AAA621678) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Prostasin (Prss8, CAP1, PROSTASIN, Serine protease 8, Protease, serine, 8) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Prostasin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA (Capture): 0.2-0.8ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse Prostasin. The detection limit for recombinant mouse Prostasin is ~20ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRSS8 prss8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prostasin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
