Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse PRDX2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-PRDX2 antibody
PRDX2, CT (Peroxiredoxin-2, Thioredoxin Peroxidase 1, Thioredoxin-dependent Peroxide Reductase 1, Thiol-specific Antioxidant Protein, TSA, PRP, Natural Killer Cell-enhancing Factor B, NKEF-B, TDPX1, NKEFB) (PE)
ELISA: 1:1,000
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Fluorescent confocal image of Hela cell stained with PRDX2 Antibody (C-term).Hela cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with PRDX2 primary antibody (1:25, 1 h at 37 degree C). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400, 50 min at 37 degree C).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (7units/ml, 1 h at 37 degree C). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue) (10 ug/ml, 10 min).PRDX2 immunoreactivity is localized to Cytoplasm significantly.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of PRDX2 Antibody (C-term) in MDA-MB231,293 cell line and mouse brain tissue lysates (35ug/lane).PRDX2 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.(2ug/ml))
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brain tissue reacted with PRDX2 Antibody (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein plays an antioxidant protective role in cells, and it may contribute to the antiviral activity of CD8(+) T-cells. The crystal structure of this protein has been resolved to 2.7 angstroms. This protein prevents hemolytic anemia from oxidative stress by stabilizing hemoglobin, thus making this gene a therapeutic target for patients with hemolytic anemia. This protein may have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 5, 6, 10 and 13. Uniprot Description
PRDX2: a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. Involved in redox regulation of the cell. Reduces peroxides with reducing equivalents provided through the thioredoxin system but not from glutaredoxin. May play an important role in eliminating peroxides generated during metabolism. Might participate in the signaling cascades of growth factors and tumor necrosis factor-alpha by regulating the intracellular concentrations of H(2)O(2). May have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Three splice-variant isoforms have been identified.
Protein type: EC 1.11.1.15; Oxidoreductase
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.2
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol
Molecular Function: antioxidant activity; thioredoxin peroxidase activity
Biological Process: regulation of apoptosis; response to reactive oxygen species; removal of superoxide radicals; hydrogen peroxide catabolic process; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis; response to oxidative stress; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes
The PRDX2 prdx2 (Catalog #AAA6492723) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PRDX2, CT (Peroxiredoxin-2, Thioredoxin Peroxidase 1, Thioredoxin-dependent Peroxide Reductase 1, Thiol-specific Antioxidant Protein, TSA, PRP, Natural Killer Cell-enhancing Factor B, NKEF-B, TDPX1, NKEFB) (PE) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PRDX2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:50-1:100 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRDX2 prdx2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PRDX2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
