Preparation and Storage
Store product at 4 degree C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable at -20 degree C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Flavoenzyme which catalyzes the oxidation of N1-acetylspermine to spermidine and is thus involved in the polyamine back-conversion. Can also oxidize N1-acetylspermidine to putrescine. Substrate specificity: N1-acetylspermine = N1-acetylspermidine > N1,N(12)-diacylspermine >> spermine. Does not oxidize spermidine. Plays an important role in the regulation of polyamine intracellular concentration and has the potential to act as a determinant of cellular sensitivity to the antitumor polyamine analogs.MiscellaneousOxidizes N1-acetylated polyamines on the exo-side of their N4-amino groups.
