Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for NUP214 detection. Tested with WB, FCM, Direct ELISA in Mouse; Rat.

Background: Nucleoporin 214 (Nup2014) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NUP214 gene. The nuclear pore complex is a massive structure that extends across the nuclear envelope, forming a gateway that regulates the flow of macromolecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Nucleoporins are the main components of the nuclear pore complex in eukaryotic cells. This gene is a member of the FG-repeat-containing nucleoporins. The protein encoded by this gene is localized to the cytoplasmic face of the nuclear pore complex where it is required for proper cell cycle progression and nucleocytoplasmic transport. The 3' portion of this gene forms a fusion gene with the DEK gene on chromosome 6 in a t(6,9) translocation associated with acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

Uniprot Description

NUP214: May serve as a docking site in the receptor-mediated import of substrates across the nuclear pore complex. A chromosomal aberration involving NUP214 is found in a subset of acute myeloid leukemia (AML); also known as acute non-lymphocytic leukemia. Translocation t(6;9)(p23;q34) with DEK. It results in the formation of a DEK-CAN fusion gene. A chromosomal aberration involving NUP214 is found in some cases of acute undifferentiated leukemia (AUL). Translocation t(6;9)(q21;q34.1) with SET. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Nup214 nup214 (Catalog #AAA1753038) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NUP214 Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NUP214 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Direct ELISA (EIA). WB: 0.25-0.5ug/ml (Mouse, Rat) FC/FACS: 1-3ug/1x106 cells (Mouse) Direct ELISA: 0.1-0.5ug/ml (Mouse) Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Nup214 nup214 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NUP214, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
