Related Product Information for anti-LAT2 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Linker for activation of T-cells family member 2(LAT2) detection. Tested with WB in Human.
Background: LAT2(Linker for Activation of T Cells Family, Member 2), also known as LAB or NTAL, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LAT2 gene. By genomic sequence analysis, Doyle et al.(2000) mapped the WBSCR5 gene to chromosome 7q11.23. They noted that the flanking genes are highly conserved between mouse and human. By immunoprecipitation and immunoblot analysis, Brdicka et al.(2002) found that NTAL associated with GRB2, SOS1, and GAB1 after B-cell receptor activation. Janssen et al.(2003) determined that phosphorylation of LAB is likely mediated by SYK upon B-cell receptor stimulation. Binding analysis indicated associations with GRB2, and, indirectly, with PLCG1 and PLCG2.

NCBI Description

This gene is one of the contiguous genes at 7q11.23 commonly deleted in Williams syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder. This gene consists of at least 14 exons, and its alternative splicing generates 3 transcript variants, all encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

LAB: linker for activation of B cells (LAB) is an adaptor protein. B cell antigen receptor signaling leads to its phosphorylation and interaction with the adaptor protein Grb2. Decreased expression leads to a reduction in BCR-mediated calcium flux and Erk activation. Localized to lipid rafts.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q11.23

Cellular Component: mast cell granule; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; lipid raft

Molecular Function: protein binding; SH2 domain binding

Biological Process: B cell receptor signaling pathway; B cell activation; calcium-mediated signaling; innate immune response; mast cell degranulation

Product Notes

The LAT2 lat2 (Catalog #AAA176153) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NTAL antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NTAL can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LAT2 lat2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NTAL, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
