Related Product Information for anti-NPY1R antibody
Neuropeptide Y Receptor Y1 (NPY1R) is one of the most abundant neuropeptides in the mammalian nervous system and exhibits a diverse range of important physiological activities, including effects on psychomotor activity, food intake, regulation of central endocrine secretion, and potent vasoactive effects on the cardiovascular system.. Two major subtypes of NPY receptor (Y1 and Y2) have been defined by pharmacological criteria. NPY1R and NPY2R encoding mouse type 1 and type 2 neuropeptide Y receptors, have been mapped by interspecific backcross analysis. NPY1R is required for central physiological and pharmacological NPY-induced analgesia and that its activation is both sufficient and required for the release of substance P and initiation of neurogenic inflammation.

NCBI Description

Neuropeptide Y (NPY; MIM 162640) is one of the most abundant neuropeptides in the mammalian nervous system and exhibits a diverse range of important physiologic activities, including effects on psychomotor activity, food intake, regulation of central endocrine secretion, and potent vasoactive effects on the cardiovascular system. Two major subtypes of NPY (Y1 and Y2) have been defined by pharmacologic criteria. NPY receptors, such as NPY1R, have been identified in a variety of tissues, including brain, spleen, small intestine, kidney, testis, placenta, and aortic smooth muscle (Herzog et al., 1992 [PubMed 1321422]).[supplied by OMIM]

Uniprot Description

NPY1R: Receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The rank order of affinity of this receptor for pancreatic polypeptides is NPY > [Pro-34] PYY, PYY and [Leu-31, Pro-34] NPY > NPY (2-36) > [Ile-31, Gln-34] PP and PYY (3-36) > PP > NPY free acid. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q31.3-q32

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: peptide YY receptor activity; protein binding; pancreatic polypeptide receptor activity; neuropeptide Y receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; neuropeptide signaling pathway; regulation of blood pressure; regulation of multicellular organism growth; glucose metabolic process; locomotory behavior; feeding behavior; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase inhibiting pathway; sensory perception of pain

Product Notes

The NPY1R npy1r (Catalog #AAA624360) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neuropeptide Y Receptor, Type 1 (NPY1R, NPYR, NPYY1, NPY1-R) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neuropeptide Y Receptor, Type 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NPY1R npy1r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neuropeptide Y Receptor, Type 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
