Related Product Information for anti-Stxbp2 antibody
MUNC18-2 (Syntaxin-binding protein 2; STXBP2, Unc18-2, Unc18B) is a 64-66kD member of the SNARE-interacting Sec1/Unc18/STXBP family of proteins. It is widely expressed, particularly in hematopoietic cells, and is found both in cytoplasm, and associated with membranes, where it binds to STX1A, 2 and 3. Thus, it presumably participates in primary granule exocytosis by promoting granule fusion. Human STXBP2 is 593aa in length. It contains one SEC1 domain (aa28-576) with Trp28, Ser42 and Glu59 all playing a key role in syntaxin binding. There is one splice variant that shows a deletion of aa83-85. Over aa80-223, human and mouse STXBP2 share 95% amino acid sequence identity.

NCBI Description

syntaxin binding protein; important for synaptic vesicle exoctyosis; may be a component of the SNARE complex; may be involved with pancreatic beta-cell exocytosis [RGD]

Uniprot Description

STXBP2: Involved in intracellular vesicle trafficking and vesicle fusion with membranes. Contributes to the granule exocytosis machinery through interaction with soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) proteins that regulate membrane fusion. Regulates cytotoxic granule exocytosis in natural killer (NK) cells (By similarity)

Cellular Component: SNARE complex; azurophil granule; specific granule; protein complex; cell; lamellipodium; apical plasma membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol; secretory granule

Molecular Function: protein binding; syntaxin binding; syntaxin-1 binding; syntaxin-3 binding

Biological Process: regulation of mast cell degranulation; protein transport; synaptic vesicle exocytosis; exocytosis; leukocyte mediated cytotoxicity; neutrophil degranulation; response to acidity; vesicle docking during exocytosis

Product Notes

The Stxbp2 stxbp2 (Catalog #AAA620026) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MUNC18-2 (Syntaxin-binding Protein 2, Syntaxin-BP2, STXBP2, Hunc18b, Unc18-2) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MUNC18-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit is ~1ng/well. Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Stxbp2 stxbp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MUNC18-2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
