MRPL11 (Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L11, also known as L11MT) is a Protein Coding gene. This nuclear gene encodes a 39S subunit component of the mitochondrial ribosome. The MRPL11 gene, located on 11q13.2, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, and rat, etc. MRPL11 belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uL11 family. 3 alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein. Sequence analysis identified three transcript variants that encode different isoforms. Pseudogenes corresponding to this gene are found on chromosomes 5q and 12q. Among its related pathways are Organelle biogenesis and maintenance and Viral mRNA Translation.
