Store product at 4 degree C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable at -20 degree C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Related Product Information for anti-MGP antibody
MGP, is a protein involved in regulating calcification in the extracellular matrix, in particular in cartilage and arteries. MGP is a vitamin K-dependent protein, and contains five to six residues of Gla, a Ca2+ binding amino acid requiring vitamin K-dependent gamma carboxylase for its formation. It is found in human bone extracts, likely formed by COOH-terminal processing by carboxypeptidase B-like enzymatic activity.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the osteocalcin/matrix Gla family of proteins. The encoded vitamin K-dependent protein is secreted by chondrocytes and vascular smooth muscle cells, and functions as a physiological inhibitor of ectopic tissue calcification. Carboxylation status of the encoded protein is associated with calcification of the vasculature in human patients with cardiovascular disease and calcification of the synovial membranes in osteoarthritis patients. Mutations in this gene cause Keutel syndrome in human patients, which is characterized by abnormal cartilage calcification, peripheral pulmonary stenosis and facial hypoplasia. Product Notes

The MGP (Catalog #AAA6385383) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MGP (Matrix Gla Protein, Cell Growth-inhibiting Gene 36 Protein, MGLAP, GIG36) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MGP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MGP for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MGP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
