Related Product Information for anti-MEST antibody
MEST(Mesoderm-specific transcript homolog protein) is also named as PEG1 and belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. The gene is a imprinting gene, which is associated with growth of mesodermal origin cells and plays important roles in embryo development. It is also a novel regulator of Wnt/CTNNB signalling during adipogenic differentiation. It has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing and the full length protein has a glycosylation site.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily. It is imprinted, exhibiting preferential expression from the paternal allele in fetal tissues, and isoform-specific imprinting in lymphocytes. The loss of imprinting of this gene has been linked to certain types of cancer and may be due to promotor switching. The encoded protein may play a role in development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been identified for this gene. Pseudogenes of this gene are located on the short arm of chromosomes 3 and 4, and the long arm of chromosomes 6 and 15. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Product Notes

The MEST mest (Catalog #AAA2560875) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MEST Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MEST can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). IHC: 1:50-1:300 ELISA: 1:5000-1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MEST mest for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MEST, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
