Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of LPHN2 staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the latrophilin subfamily of G-protein coupled receptors. The encoded protein participates in the regulation of exocytosis. The proprotein is thought to be further cleaved within a cysteine-rich G-protein-coupled receptor proteolysis site into two chains that are non-covalently bound at the cell membrane. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Uniprot Description

latrophilin 2: Calcium-independent receptor of low affinity for alpha- latrotoxin, an excitatory neurotoxin present in black widow spider venom which triggers massive exocytosis from neurons and neuroendocrine cells. Receptor propably implicated in the regulation of exocytosis. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. LN-TM7 subfamily. 7 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 2; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p31.1

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; latrotoxin receptor activity; carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway

Product Notes

The LPHN2 adgrl2 (Catalog #AAA8211226) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-LPHN2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LPHN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1/500 - 1/1000 IHC: 1/100 - 1/200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LPHN2 adgrl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LPHN2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
