Application Notes
Immunoprecipitation: This rabbit antisera will quantitatively immunoprecipitate leptin at dilutions ranging from 1:500 to 1:5000 depending upon the amount of leptin in a sample and the procedure used. We have tested the antiserum using double antibody precipitation and magnetic bead techniques.
Related Product Information for anti-Lep antibody
The antiserum was raised in a rabbit which was immunized with a peptide analogue of the amino terminal of the Human Leptin[1-24] covalently attached onto a carrier protein. This antiserum is specific for the amino terminal of the human Leptin and is suitable for immunoprecipitation of human. mouse. monkey. pig and rat leptin. The antiserum has been characterized by RIA. ELISA. western blot. and cell staining techniques. Dilute the lyophilized antiserum with 0.1 ml of 10 mg/ml BSA is PBS for the equivalent of whole antiserum. or with additional buffer for more dilute antiserum

NCBI Description

involved in regulation of body weight, and may have a role in angiogenesis [RGD]

Uniprot Description

Function: May function as part of a signaling pathway that acts to regulate the size of the body fat depot. An increase in the level of Lep may act directly or indirectly on the CNS to inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure as part of a homeostatic mechanism to maintain constancy of the adipose mass.

Subcellular location: Secreted

Probable.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the leptin family.

Product Notes

The Lep lep (Catalog #AAA352144) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Anti-human Leptin Serum reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Leptin [131-145] can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Lep lep for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Leptin [131-145], Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
