Rabbit LBP Polyclonal Antibody | anti-LBP antibody
Anti-LBP Antibody
Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg NaN3.
Other applications have not been tested.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of LBP expression in rat thymus extract (lane 1), mouse thymus extract (lane 2), HELA whole cell lysates (lane 3) and K562 whole cell lysates (lane 4). LBP at 65KD was detected using rabbit anti- LBP Antigen Affinity purified polyclonal antibody at 0.5ug/mL. The blot was developed using chemiluminescence (ECL) method. )
Background: Lipopolysaccharide binding protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LBP gene. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the acute-phase immunologic response to gram-negative bacterial infections. Gram-negative bacteria contain a glycolipid, lipopolysaccharide (LPS), on their outer cell wall. Together with bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (BPI), the encoded protein binds LPS and interacts with the CD14 receptor, probably playing a role in regulating LPS-dependent monocyte responses. Studies in mice suggest that the encoded protein is necessary for the rapid acute-phase response to LPS but not for the clearance of LPS from circulation. This protein is part of a family of structurally and functionally related proteins, including BPI, plasma cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP), and phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP).

Uniprot Description
LBP: Binds to the lipid A moiety of bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS), a glycolipid present in the outer membrane of all Gram-negative bacteria. The LBP/LPS complex seems to interact with the CD14 receptor. Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family.

Product Notes
The LBP lbp (Catalog #AAA178622) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-LBP Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LBP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LBP lbp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LBP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
