Target Description: Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. KCNV1 is a member of the potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily V. This protein is essentially present in the brain, and its role might be to inhibit the function of a particular class of outward rectifier potassium channel types.Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Uniprot Description
KCNV1: Potassium channel subunit that does not form functional channels by itself. Modulates KCNB1 and KCNB2 channel activity by shifting the threshold for inactivation to more negative values and by slowing the rate of inactivation. Can down-regulate the channel activity of KCNB1, KCNB2, KCNC4 and KCND1, possibly by trapping them in intracellular membranes. Belongs to the potassium channel family. V (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv8.1/KCNV1 sub-subfamily.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q23.2
Cellular Component: integral component of plasma membrane; plasma membrane; voltage-gated potassium channel complex
Molecular Function: ion channel inhibitor activity; potassium channel regulator activity; voltage-gated potassium channel activity
Biological Process: potassium ion transport; protein homooligomerization; regulation of molecular function

Product Notes
The KCNV1 kcnv1 (Catalog #AAA3203709) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KCNV1 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Pig, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KCNV1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCNV1 kcnv1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: ALGDCFTVNV GGSRFVLSQQ ALSCFPHTRL GKLAVVVASY RRPGALAAVP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KCNV1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
