Related Product Information for anti-KCE1L antibody
Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. This gene encodes a membrane protein which has sequence similarity to the KCNE1 gene product, a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, isk-related subfamily. This intronless gene is deleted in AMME contiguous gene syndrome and may be involved in the cardiac and neurologic abnormalities found in the AMME contiguous gene syndrome.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of single pass transmembrane domain proteins that function as ancillary subunits to voltage-gated potassium channels. Members of this family affect diverse processes in potassium channel regulation, including ion selectivity, voltage dependence, and anterograde recycling from the plasma membrane. Variants of this gene are associated with idiopathic ventricular fibrillation and Brugada syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2016]

Uniprot Description

KCNE1L: Defects in KCNE1L are involved in Alport syndrome with mental retardation midface hypoplasia and elliptocytosis (ATS-MR). A X-linked contiguous gene deletion syndrome characterized by glomerulonephritis, deafness, mental retardation, midface hypoplasia and elliptocytosis. Belongs to the potassium channel KCNE family.

Product Notes

The KCE1L kcne5 (Catalog #AAA6312191) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KCE1L, ID (KCNE1L, AMMECR2, Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily E member 1-like protein, AMME syndrome candidate gene 2 protein) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KCE1L can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCE1L kcne5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KCE1L, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
