Related Product Information for anti-HMGB3 antibody
HMGB3 (High Mobility Group-Box 3) belongs to the high mobility group box (HMG-box) subfamily. It has 99% homology with HMGB1 and HMGB2. This subfamily has a HMG-box, so it can regulate gene transcription by participating with formation of enhancesomes. The HMG-box subfamily also plays an important role in DNA replication, transcription, recombination and repair, etc. HMGB3 has been reported to have high expression in embryos and weak expression in adult tissues. HMGB3 is important in keeping the balance between self-renewal and differentiation status in mouse hematopoietic stem cells.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins containing one or more high mobility group DNA-binding motifs. The encoded protein plays an important role in maintaining stem cell populations, and may be aberrantly expressed in tumor cells. A mutation in this gene was associated with microphthalmia, syndromic 13. There are numerous pseudogenes of this gene on multiple chromosomes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Uniprot Description

HMGB3: Binds preferentially single-stranded DNA and unwinds double stranded DNA. Belongs to the HMGB family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq28

Molecular Function: DNA bending activity; double-stranded DNA binding; four-way junction DNA binding; protein binding

Biological Process: DNA geometric change; DNA recombination; multicellular organismal development

Product Notes

The HMGB3 hmgb3 (Catalog #AAA668673) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to HMGB3 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HMGB3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 2-4 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HMGB3 hmgb3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HMGB3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
