Related Product Information for HMGB3 recombinant protein
HMGB3 belongs to the high mobility group (HMG) protein superfamily. Like HMG1 (MIM 163905) and HMG2 (MIM 163906), HMGB3 contains DNA-binding HMG box domains and is classified into the HMG box subfamily. Members of the HMG box subfamily are thought to play a fundamental role in DNA replication, nucleosome assembly and transcription. Recombinant human HMGB3 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins containing one or more high mobility group DNA-binding motifs. The encoded protein plays an important role in maintaining stem cell populations, and may be aberrantly expressed in tumor cells. A mutation in this gene was associated with microphthalmia, syndromic 13. There are numerous pseudogenes of this gene on multiple chromosomes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Uniprot Description

Multifunctional protein with various roles in different cellular compartments. May act in a redox sensitive manner. Associates with chromatin and binds DNA with a preference to non-canonical DNA structures such as single-stranded DNA. Can bent DNA and enhance DNA flexibility by looping thus providing a mechanism to promote activities on various gene promoters (). Proposed to be involved in the innate immune response to nucleic acids by acting as a cytoplasmic promiscuous immunogenic DNA/RNA sensor (). Negatively regulates B-cell and myeloid cell differentiation. In hematopoietic stem cells may regulate the balance between self-renewal and differentiation. Involved in negative regulation of canonical Wnt signaling ().

Product Notes

The HMGB3 hmgb3 (Catalog #AAA205103) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's HMGB3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HMGB3 hmgb3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMAKGDPK KPKGKMSAYA FFVQTCREEH KKKNPEVPVN FAEFSKKCSE RWKTMSGKEK SKFDEMAKAD KVRYDREMKD YGPAKGGKKK KDPNAPKRPP SGFFLFCSEF RPKIKSTNPG ISIGDVAKKL GEMWNNLNDS EKQPYITKAA KLKEKYEKDV ADYKSKGKFD GAKGPAKVAR KKV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HMGB3, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
