Related Product Information for anti-GNAQ antibody
Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins are a family of heterotrimeric proteins that couple cell surface, 7-transmembrane domain receptors to intracellular signaling pathways. Receptor activation catalyzes the exchange of GTP for GDP bound to the inactive G protein alpha subunit resulting in a conformational change and dissociation of the complex. The G protein alpha and beta-gamma subunits are capable of regulating various cellular effectors.

NCBI Description

This locus encodes a guanine nucleotide-binding protein. The encoded protein, an alpha subunit in the Gq class, couples a seven-transmembrane domain receptor to activation of phospolipase C-beta. Mutations at this locus have been associated with problems in platelet activation and aggregation. A related pseudogene exists on chromosome 2.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]

Uniprot Description

G-alpha(q): a guanine nucleotide-binding protein of the G12 class of G-alpha proteins. Agonist binding to Gq-coupled receptors may block Akt activation via the release of active G-alpha(q) subunits that inhibit phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. Heterotrimeric G proteins are composed of 3 units; alpha, beta and gamma. The alpha chain contains the guanine nucleotide binding site.

Product Notes

The GNAQ gnaq (Catalog #AAA243948) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat Polyclonal to Human GNAQ reacts with Bat, Gibbon, Bovine, Dog, Human, Monkey, Pig, Rabbit, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Mouse, Hamster, Horse (at least 90% immunogen sequence identity) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GNAQ can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:64000), IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB (0.1 - 0.3 ug/ml) Usage: Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:64000. Western blot: Approx 38 to 40kD band observed in Human, Mouse and Rat Testis lysates (calculated MW of 42.1kD according to Human NP_002063.2 and to Rat NP_112298.1). Recommended concentration.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GNAQ gnaq for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GNAQ, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
