Subtitle
Peptide Affinity Purified Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Pab)
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Note=Cycles between at least 3 distinct intracellular compartments, including focal adhesions, cytoplasmic complexes and membrane protrusions. During cell migration, when cells detach, moves from the adhesions into the cytoplasmic complexes towards the leading edge, while, when cells adhere, it is found in vinculin-containing adhesions. Recruitment to adhesions may be mediated by active tyrosine-phosphorylated paxillin.
Antigen Region
366-395 aa
Antigen Type
Synthetic Peptide
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for anti-GIT1 antibody
Description: GTPase-activating protein for the ADP ribosylation factor family. May serve as a scaffold to bring together molecules to form signaling modules controlling vesicle trafficking, adhesion and cytoskeletal organization. Increases the speed of cell migration, as well as the size and rate of formation of protrusions, possibly by targeting PAK1 to adhesions and the leading edge of lamellipodia. Sequesters inactive non-tyrosine-phosphorylated paxillin in cytoplasmic complexes (from SwissProt).

Uniprot Description

GIT1: a multidomain, adaptor protein that regulates cellular processes, such as migration and protrusive activity, by bringing together various signaling molecules, including PIX, PAK, and paxillin. Phosphorylation on Ser-709 increases its binding to paxillin and regulates cellular protrusions. Possesses ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) GTPase-activating protein (GAP) activity. Functions as part of a multi-molecular signaling complex that regulates membrane protrusions and cell migration. Regulates PLC-gamma activation by c-Src and integrates signal transduction by G protein coupled receptors (GPCR)s and tyrosine kinase receptors (TKRs).

Protein type: GAPs, ARF; GAPs; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; focal adhesion; membrane; neuron projection; synapse

Molecular Function: GTPase activator activity; metal ion binding; protein binding; protein complex binding; protein homodimerization activity; small GTPase binding

Biological Process: ephrin receptor signaling pathway; formation of immunological synapse; positive regulation of GTPase activity; regulation of cytokinesis; regulation of G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway

Product Notes

The GIT1 git1 (Catalog #AAA9217144) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GIT1-S388 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, Mouse; Predicted Reactivity: Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GIT1-S388 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB:~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GIT1 git1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GIT1-S388, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
