NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene contains CAG trinucleotide repeats and encodes a protein containing several stretches of polyglutamine residues. The encoded protein may be involved in the regulation of tyrosine kinase receptor signaling. This gene is located in a chromosomal region that was genetically linked to Parkinson disease type 11, and mutations in this gene were thought to be causative for this disease. However, more recent studies in different populations have been unable to replicate this association. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
Uniprot Description
TNRC15 iso3: May act cooperatively with GRB10 to regulate tyrosine kinase receptor signaling, including IGF1 and insulin receptors. Defects in GIGYF2 are may be the cause of Parkinson disease type 11 (PARK11). A complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by bradykinesia, resting tremor, muscular rigidity and postural instability, as well as by a clinically significant response to treatment with levodopa. The pathology involves the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra and the presence of Lewy bodies (intraneuronal accumulations of aggregated proteins), in surviving neurons in various areas of the brain. Belongs to the PERQ family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The GIGYF2 gigyf2 (Catalog #AAA769686) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GIGYF2 Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GIGYF2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GIGYF2 gigyf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GIGYF2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
