Related Product Information for anti-GBP1 antibody
Function: Hydrolyzes GTP to GMP in 2 consecutive cleavage reactions. Exhibits antiviral activity against influenza virus. Promote oxidative killing and deliver antimicrobial peptides to autophagolysosomes, providing broad host protection against different pathogen classes.
Subunit Structure: Homodimer; homodimerization occurs upon GTP-binding and is required for the second hydrolysis step from GDP to GMP. Heterodimer with other family members, including GBP2, GBP3, GBP4 and GBP5. Dimerization regulates subcellular location to membranous structures.
Post-translational Modifications: Isoprenylation is required for proper subcellular location.
Similarity: Belongs to the TRAFAC class dynamin-like GTPase superfamily. GB1/RHD3-type GTPase family. GB1 subfamily.

NCBI Description

Guanylate binding protein expression is induced by interferon. Guanylate binding proteins are characterized by their ability to specifically bind guanine nucleotides (GMP, GDP, and GTP) and are distinguished from the GTP-binding proteins by the presence of 2 binding motifs rather than 3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Hydrolyzes GTP to GMP in 2 consecutive cleavage reactions. Exhibits antiviral activity against influenza virus. Promote oxidative killing and deliver antimicrobial peptides to autophagolysosomes, providing broad host protection against different pathogen classes.

Product Notes

The GBP1 gbp1 (Catalog #AAA9605054) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GBP1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GBP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GBP1 gbp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GBP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
