NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Guanylate binding protein expression is induced by interferon. Guanylate binding proteins are characterized by their ability to specifically bind guanine nucleotides (GMP, GDP, and GTP) and are distinguished from the GTP-binding proteins by the presence of 2 binding motifs rather than 3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
GBP1: a member of the family of large GTP-binding proteins (GBPs) that is inducible by interferon. Possesses a high GTP hydrolysis activity. GBPs are the most abundant cellular proteins expressed in response to interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma). IFN-gamma, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), and interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) strongly induce the expression of GBP-1, -2, and -3.

Product Notes
The GBP1 gbp1 (Catalog #AAA1499104) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-human Interferon-induced guanylate-binding protein 1 polyclonal Antibody(GBP1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interferon-induced guanylate-binding protein 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Recommended dilution: WB:1:500-2000 IHC:1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GBP1 gbp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interferon-induced guanylate-binding protein 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
