NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors which are characterized by a distinct forkhead domain. Studies of the orthologous mouse protein indicate that it functions in kidney development by promoting nephron progenitor differentiation, and it also functions in the development of the retina and optic chiasm. It may also regulate inflammatory reactions and prevent autoimmunity. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]

Uniprot Description

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q13.2

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; DNA bending activity; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: axon guidance; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of BMP signaling pathway

Product Notes

The FOXD1 foxd1 (Catalog #AAA6299742) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FOXD1, NT (FOXD1, FKHL8, FREAC4, Forkhead box protein D1, Forkhead-related protein FKHL8, Forkhead-related transcription factor 4) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FOXD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:10-50 ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FOXD1 foxd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FOXD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
