Target Description: Members of the ETS family of transcription factors, such as ERF, regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. They share a highly conserved DNA-binding domain, the ETS domain, that recognizes the sequence GGAA/T (de Castro et al., 1997 [PubMed 9192842]). The protein encoded by this gene binds to the ETS2 promoter and is a strong repressor of ETS2 transcription. Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
