Ephexin-1 (Tyr-87), phospho-specific Antibody

Gene Names
Ngef; Tims2; ephexin
Reactivity
Human, Rat, Mouse, Chicken
Applications
Western Blot, ELISA, Immunocytochemistry
Synonyms
Ephexin-1; Polyclonal Antibody; Ephexin-1 (Tyr-87); phospho-specific Antibody; phospho-specific; Ephexin 087; anti-Ngef antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Human, Rat, Mouse, Chicken
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
This polyclonal antibody was affinity purified using phospho-ephexin-1 (Tyr-87) peptide. The purified antibody detects an 80kDa* band corresponding to ephexin-1 in Western blots of human A431 treated with pervanadate. This band is removed by alkaline phosphatase treatment.
Form/Format
Rabbit polyclonal, affinity-purified antibody is supplied in 100ul phosphate-buffered saline, 50% glycerol, 1mg/ml BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide.
Applicable Applications for anti-Ngef antibody
Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
Application Notes
ELISA: 1:2000
ICC: 1:200
WB: 1:1000
Immunogen
Phospho-ephexin-1 (Tyr-87) synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier protein) corresponds to amino acids surrounding tyrosine 87 in mouse ephexin-1. This sequence has significant homology to the conserved site in human and rat ephexin-1.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 1 year.

Immunocytochemistry (ICC)

(Immunocytochemical labeling of phosphorylated Exphexin-1 in pervanadate-treated mouse C2C12. The cells were labeled with rabbit polyclonal Ephexin-1 (C-terminal region) and Ephexin-1 (Tyr-87) antibodies, then the antibodies were detected using appropriate secondary antibodies conjugated to Cy3.)

Related Product Information for anti-Ngef antibody
The EpHfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases, and their ephrin ligands, are important for cell positioning and morphogenesis during development. EphA4 receptor can inhibit axon outgrowth and has roles in regulating axon projections during neural development. EpHsignaling pathways require both receptor kinase activity and activation of Rho-GTPase guanine nucleotide-exchange factors (GEFs). Ephexin-1 is a Dbl family GEF that may be important for regulating Rho GTPase activity downstream of EphA4/FGFR complexes. EphA4 activation leads to Src kinase phosphorylation of Tyr-87 in ephexin-1, which enhances activation of RhoA, but not Rac1 or Cdc42. In addition, ephexin-1 also binds FGFRs, and is phosphorylated at Tyr-87, as well as other tyrosine sites.

Product Notes

The Ngef ngef (Catalog #AAA474341) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Ephexin-1 (Tyr-87), phospho-specific Antibody reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse, Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ephexin-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). ELISA: 1:2000 ICC: 1:200 WB: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Ngef ngef for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ephexin-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
