Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognizes human Early Growth Response Protein 1, (EGR1), a 57.5 kDa nuclear protein belonging to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins.

EGR1 functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentiation and mitogenesis. Research has also demonstrated that EGR1 expression is elevated in a range of cancers including prostate cancer where EGR1 has been shown to promote the growth of tumour cells.

IgG concentration 0.5 mg/ml (varies by lot)
Sequence Length
543
Applicable Applications for anti-EGR1 antibody
ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 10ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Perservative Stabilisers
0.01% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide sequence corresponding to amino acid 94 - 108 of human EGR1.
Histology Positive Control Tissue
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to Human EGR1 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein and functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentitation and mitogenesis. Studies suggest this is a cancer suppressor gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Uniprot Description

EGR1: Transcriptional regulator. Recognizes and binds to the DNA sequence 5'-CGCCCCCGC-3'(EGR-site). Activates the transcription of target genes whose products are required for mitogenesis and differentiation. By growth factors. Belongs to the EGR C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family.

Protein type: DNA-binding; C2H2-type zinc finger protein; Transcription factor

Product Notes

The EGR1 egr1 (Catalog #AAA224123) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI EGR1 reacts with Bovine (Expected from Sequence), Chimpanzee (Expected from Sequence), Dog (Expected from Sequence), Rhesus Monkey (Expected from Sequence), Sheep (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EGR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 10ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EGR1 egr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EGR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
