Related Product Information for anti-EGFP antibody
Enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP) is a 27 kDa protein derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria, which emits green light (emission peak at a wavelenth of 509 nm) when excited by blue light (excitation peak at a wavelenth of 395 nm). EGFP has become an invaluable tool in cell biology research, since its intrinsic fluorescence can be visualized in living cells. EGFP fluorescence is stable under fixation conditions and suitable for a variety of applications. EGFP has been widely used as a reporter for gene expression, enabling researchers to visualize and localize EGFP-tagged proteins within living cells without the need for chemical staining. Other applications of EGFP include assessment of protein protein interactions through the yeast two hybrid system and measurement of distance between proteins through fluorescence energy transfer (FRET) protocols. EGFP technnology has considerably contributed to a greater understanding of cellular physiology.Description: EGFP produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 239 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 27kDa. EGFP is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques

Product Notes

The EGFP gfp (Catalog #AAA3008729) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EGFP polyclonal antibody reacts with Recombinant EGFP and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EGFP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:1000-10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EGFP gfp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EGFP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
