Related Product Information for anti-DUBA antibody
DUBA belongs to a subfamily of 14 DUBs characterized by an OTU (Ovarian Tumor) domain. This protein suppress the type I interferon-dependent innate immune response by cleaving the polyubiquitin chain from an essential type I interferon adaptor protein. Cleavage results in disassociation of the adaptor protein from a downstream signaling complex and disruption of the type I interferon signaling cascade. DUBA forms a direct complex with p53 and controls level of ubiquitination. The function of DUBA is required to allow the rapid activation of p53-dependent transcription and a p53-dependent apoptosis in response to DNA damage stress.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the OTU (ovarian tumor) domain-containing cysteine protease superfamily. The OTU domain confers deubiquitinase activity and the encoded protein has been shown to suppress the type I interferon-dependent innate immune response by cleaving the polyubiquitin chain from an essential type I interferon adaptor protein. Cleavage results in disassociation of the adaptor protein from a downstream signaling complex and disruption of the type I interferon signaling cascade. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

OTUD5: a protein of unknown function. Contains a OTU-like cysteine protease domain.

Protein type: Ubiquitin-specific protease; Protease; EC 3.4.19.12

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp11.23

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: ubiquitin-specific protease activity

Biological Process: innate immune response; response to lipopolysaccharide; proteolysis; negative regulation of interferon type I production

Product Notes

The DUBA otud5 (Catalog #AAA668141) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DUBA Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DUBA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: 2-4 µg/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DUBA otud5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DUBA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
